New from Nocturnicorn Books, Le Fantastique: A Tribute to Clive Barker has been released on Amazon. I doubt there are many readers of this website that do not know who Clive is. His short fiction collection, THE BOOKS OF BLOOD is responsible for me trying my hand at writing short fiction. And as I learned today, from an interview that explains the origins of his latest, upcoming collection, it almost did not get released originally — when Clive refused to censor their contents. His novels followed. His feature films, such as HELLRAISER, NIGHTBREED and LORD OF ILLUSIONS, blew the horror world away, before he also proceeded to take on the art world. And Alex S. Johnson has collected 588 pages of interviews, poetry and short fiction in honour of the master.
Among the collected works, KEEP DRIVING BABY has made the cut, for which I am truly grateful. Though I was surprised, as I had written PIG SWEAT BLUES and IMPRINT in honour the Clive Barker and submitted those many moons ago. However, it might make it into a subsequent revision / volume. Still, readers of OFF-CUTS: PATIENT ZERO will be delighted to know those will feature in the next volume of the OFF-CUTS short fiction series.
